Skype is an Internet based software program that you can use to make phone calls or video chat to people from any part of the globe, and for the most part, the service is free. Skype was my first choice for video chatting and continues to be. The newest version is just perfect for all web chatting needs and it has been available for a few months now. Some of the new features to love in this version are that you can combine things like your Facebook friends and then Select and pin favorite contacts. This is a convenient feature for those with a lot of contacts in different programs.
Skype is fairly easy to install and installation is completed in around five minutes or so. This is understandable because it’s not a very large file. After the installation you’ll notice the clean design that Skype now offers and the easy to read panels. Overall the dashboard is completely refined.
As for user interface it is fairly easy to use. A couple of clicks and you’ll probably figure out how to use 90 percent of it already.
One of the features found on Skype is the Facebook tab integration. This is awesome for those who want to find new friends from Facebook. Instead of leaving video chatting service, you can just post a status update from the tab. With Skype you can now leave an instant voicemail to offline friends, as well. You can use an email address, a phone number, a full name or a Skype ID to find people. That way, it increases your chance of locating the person you are seeking.
Skype is one of the most popular video calling programs; it has reached new heights against its competitors. Customer service is always on track so you can ask any question or bring up any concern.
Skype is without a doubt the best platform for video chatting. Even though the group video chat requires premium membership, the free version of Skype is good enough for all your video calling services.
